Taobao/Tmall Product Reviews Analyzer – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Chrome extension “Taobao/Tmall Product Reviews Analyzer” (Chinese name: “淘宝商品评论智能分析”) processes data. The extension captures public product reviews on Taobao/Tmall and uses a user-selected large language model (LLM) provider to generate a summary and an authenticity assessment. Results are displayed and cached locally.

Scope

• Product: Chrome Extension (Manifest V3)
• Purpose: Capture public reviews on Taobao/Tmall product pages and generate a summary and authenticity assessment using a user-selected LLM. No advertising or analytics. No data sale.

Data We Process

• Page content: Public review text and minimal related metadata from the current product page (e.g., URL, page title, derived product key). The extension does not collect general browsing history.
• LLM configuration: User-provided provider settings including API key, model, and endpoint.
• Local cache: Per-product analysis results (summary, authenticity, SKU insights) stored on the user’s device.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information. Review content may contain user nicknames or other public strings that appear on the page; this content may be included in requests to your chosen LLM provider solely to perform the analysis.

How We Use Data

• To provide the requested feature: extract public reviews, send review text with minimal metadata to your selected LLM, and show the analysis in the popup UI.
• We do not use data for advertising, profiling, or remarketing. We do not run third-party analytics/trackers.

Sharing and Transfers

• Developer servers: None. The extension does not send data to developer-controlled servers.
• LLM providers: Review text and minimal metadata (URL, title, derived product key) are transmitted to the selected LLM provider (e.g., OpenAI, DeepSeek, Google Gemini, or a user-configured compatible endpoint) strictly to generate the analysis. Requests are sent over HTTPS and do not include cookies.
• Your chosen provider processes data under its own privacy policy and terms; please review them before use.

Storage and Retention

• Local storage: Settings (crawl parameters, LLM provider config including API key) and per-product analysis results are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device.
• Retention: Data persists until you clear extension data or uninstall the extension. The developer does not retain data on any server.

Security

• API keys are stored locally and used only to authenticate requests to the selected provider.
• All outbound API requests use HTTPS.

Children’s Privacy

This extension is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices and Controls

• You can change the LLM provider, remove API keys, and clear cached results at any time via the extension or by clearing Chrome extension data.
• Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data for this extension.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
